Confirmed: Bear didn't parachute into a tree, but was hoisted into the tree. He also wore a safety harness.
In yet another expose to strike the show, it is revealed that Bear did not, in fact, parachute into a tree and get snagged. He was hoisted into the tree, and wore safety gear.
