Of course it's staged. How else do you think he would run into problem after problem? However if it wasn't staged, then he might have an easier time out there in the wild. The show is designed to show more hazards than you would probably run into. Just a broader view of what nature can offer. If he didn't have help, and he died, wouldn't be much of a show now would it? He sure gives people atleast a slim chance of survival though rather than them being completely clueless if stuck in a certain situation. Watch the show for entertainment and quit wasting time trying to argue how he's wrong and you keyboard warriors are right.
