Jumps off a cliff because of an approaching bear, but the camera crew is already on the other side

Confirmed: The scenario in which Bear leaps off a cliff is impossible to match with the camera angles.

Before the jump.
Bear getting out of the water.

As is common on the show, sometimes the camera angles are impossible to sync with the presented narrative. In this episode[1], Bear is being pursued by a "grizzly bear". We never see this bear, but we're told it's really close, and Bear must hurry to get away. His hasty escape is so important that he has no choice but to leap off a cliff into the unknown waters below. The problem is that the crew films parts of the jump from across the river, and is ready for him when he gets out of the water.

"It was funny when we shot the sequence where Eddie jumps off a cliff into the Clark Fork river. He made quite a production out of it and when he had done his jump the female assistant director did the jump too.... no fanfare." ~ Ron Hood, show survival consultant(citation needed)

[edit] Analysis

Support: One should never cliff dive without known the water depth. Diving into water of unknown depth is an exceedingly efficient way to get killed or maimed. His crew, which has clearly already crossed the river and has admitted to, for example using divers in another ep, undoubtedly means that checked the water depth for him. They didn't, however, mention this critical issue to the viewers.

Support: Even if you DO know the waters depth, it's still an unnecessary risk. Landing even the slightest bit wrong can cause substantial injuries, including broken limbs, broken back, internal injuries, and death. This was a STUNT - there's no reasonable way to argue that this is a good idea under ANY circumstances.

Oppose: Although you're right, its not a good idea to cliff dive. If I was put between a hungry bear and a cliff with some water below it, I might take my chances with the cliff.
Support:The bear wouldn't give up when it got to the cliff. It would just find a better way down, and then eat you. You would just be an easier meal since you broke your leg.
Support: Bears do not attack people to eat them. They attack them because they are threatened or their youth are threatened. I find it hilarious that there could be a bear after Bear, for he would have to be stupid enough to piss it off.

Support: If he was suddenly chased by a bear he had enough pressense of mind to grab his backpack. I didn't actually see this episode, but it doesn't look like he had it in his hand before he jumped off the cliff though. And I always heard it's a bad idea to run from a bear since they are fast runners.
