Fake bear sign.
From BearWiki
Claim: The "black bear claw marks" in the Everglades go cross-grain and don't resemble actual black-bear claw marks.
Fake Bear sign. Black bear claw mark was obviously cut in to the wood buy a human since it goes cross grain. Compare to real black bear claw marks
[edit] Analysis
Oppose: I think a man named Bear would know his own marks. Sheesh.
- Support: Was that comment even meant to be serious? Besides, Bear is a nickname (short for "Teddy Bear"). His real name is Edward. The mark is so obviously fake (with all of the straightline cuts, including the glaring "top of the paw" straight line) that it seems amazing that anybody would have bought into it even if it hadn't gone against the grain.
- Support: Bear himself admits he "doesn't know much about bears" in the pilot episode, and certainly demonstrates this in his bear advice.
- Neither: I am fairly certain that comment was meant to be humorous, learn to take a joke.
Oppose: Frankly, the "fake" bear mark would've looked no different than the real one if it was made on a same tree. The real bear mark was marked on a different tree so the sign should *look* different.
Oppose: "Compare to real bear claws". Do you think bears are mass-produced and identical robots? It all depends; on the bear, his claws, paws, the tree and other circumstances. Comparing the show's claw marks with others like that is just ridiculous. Same with the silly argument that it's going cross-grain. You mean bears aren't entitled to scratch the tree in whatever angle they want? It must always go exactly 90 degrees downwards or else it's not a (robot) bear?
- Support: Obviously, it must have been a mass-produced robot with steel claws. Do you think bears are monster like creatures with godlike force? It´s imposible to make that claw sign in one perfect move, you are giving to much credit to the bears.
