Commercial-style fishing hooks inexplicably 'made' offcamera
From BearWiki
Claim: Bear conveniently makes fishhooks offcamera that look like commercial hooks.
In the European Alps, Bear catches a fish with fishhooks that he reportedly made, without an explanation as to the process, from his parachute rigging [1]. They don't give as he threads bait on them, as one would expect from hooks made simply from bent wire, but just as one would expect from a rigid commercial hook.
Update: The edited version of the episode reveals that at least the catching of the trout was staged.
[edit] Analysis
Oppose: The views of the hooks isn't very clear.
Oppose: Parachute rigging it not only made from strong nylon and thread, but connectors also have pieces of rough plastic and even metal on them, making it easy if one so wishes to construct a 'hook' using one's survival knife and 3+ years training in constructing items out of wire. ;)
Support: So, Bare has 3 years of "training in constructing items out of wire"? I'm gonna need to see a reference on that, please. And if you're referring to his SAS "training," you're barking up the wrong tree.
Support: Each of the hooks were much to uniformed in size and 'perfect' in curve for one to have made them themself.
