According to Steve Fambro, the Aptera Typ-1 was designed to not be a "penalty vehicle."[1] As such, it contains modern conveniences like an in-car computer, and an always on climate system. It has enough room for someone 6'1", or 6'5" with seat pad adjustments.[2] The Aptera has 15.9 cubic feet of trunk space[3] (total payload capacity has not been stated). It has been stated that the road testing and mileage testing were conducted with a driver and enough extra weight to simulate a typical (not maximum) 400 pound payload.

The seats will be changed from the Mk1 version to more standard bucket seats in the production line.[4] Most reviewers have described the car as roomier inside than expected, with the most negative review being "cozy" (from a 6'6" reviewer).[5][6][7][8][9][10]. Entrance and egress difficulty is reportedly similar to that of a sports car. The height is described as being very similar to that of a BMW Z4 coupe, including when the head is at an angle. Entry and egress is reportedly made easier in the Aptera by the D-shaped steering wheel.[11].

The windows will roll down[12] in the final version; there are apparently two methods being considered. Speculation has to how this will happen has revolved around a split window design after a photo was revealed showing a suggestive tape line along the window of a prototype.[13]
