Backup Cameras

In addition to the three rear-view "TV" cameras, there is a Backup Camera (color and IR sensitive) on the Aptera, located on the rear wheel "fin", right at the top of the rear edge of the fin.

This 4th camera is used just when backing up. It appears to have a "fish-eye" lens, and a separate set of LEDs to illuminate the scene to the rear and under the tail of the vehicle.

If this "illumination" LED cluster is visible (white), then it might serve as a backup-light, warning others that the vehicle is in Reverse "gear". Possibly, for additional safety while backing up, Aptera might also choose to flash the rear brake or turn signals when in Reverse. The specific details, at this point, are unknown -- only what is visible in photographs.
